Case study 1:
Development of evidence-based resources
1
Goal
This is an ongoing consultancy for an Australian start-up launching an innovative clinical decision support software for clinicians and practice owners that combines AI technology with the principles of evidence-based practice. Our consultants were tasked to guide the R&D team in developing appropriate clinical categories to support their workflow.
2
Cost
Hourly consultancy fees are routinely charged starting at £125ph or £800pd.
In this specific example, a 3-hour task (1 hour meeting and 2 hours consulting work) for an Australian client providing initial, high-level guidance on documents developed by their team was provided for 750 A$.

3
Outcome
Our consultant's feedback was so insightful that the firm's research team took one month to address all comments.
The CEO commented: "Thank you so much for the below. It’s creating meaningful change already. Having you as an advisor is going to be incredibly valuable for our budding research team."
Case study 2:
Project management: setting impactful aims
1
Goal
This was a standalone project to identify achievable yet impactful objectives following unforeseen modifications of a research project, potentially leading to a surge in expenditures.
2
Cost

In this specific example, two consultants led a timely design of the modified project and were eventually involved in data analysis following experimentation.
The overall pre-set cost to the client was 5,600 €.
3
Outcome
Our consultants constructed a competitive plan within 6 weeks by focusing on evidence gathering, data analysis, and risk reduction through ad hoc predictive models.
Well worth the money given that it circumvented significant overbudget.
Case study 3:
Identification and validation of mechanism-based targets
1
Goal
This program included a comprehensive assessment of current models of disease and available clinical trials to identify key pathogenic pathways. Suitable clinical studies and preclinical models were screened for selection of potential mechanism-based interventions, which were tested in models of disease.
2
Cost
This section of the program spanned 12 months and was articulated in progressive milestones. It included dry and wet lab experiments and involved two universities from Australia and UK.
The total cost to our industry partner was approximatively € 40,000
(A$ 28,000 and £ 16,600).
3
Outcome
Data generated in this section supported an EU patent application and provided the rationale for subsequent clinical studies. Once IP process was cleared, data intended for sharing were published in two peer-reviewed scientific publications.
